1. Information We Collect
When you use SkateCred, we collect:
- Account information: email address, name (via Google sign-in or email registration)
- Athlete profile data: athlete name, date of birth, gender, sport category, club affiliation, bio, photos
- Achievement data: competition results, event details, medals, locations
- Usage data: pages visited, features used (via Google Analytics)
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage athlete profiles
- To generate and display achievement badges
- To show public athlete profiles to visitors
- To provide club-level achievement views for coaches
- To improve the platform through analytics
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Public athlete profiles are visible to anyone with the link. Private profiles are only visible to the parent who created them and their linked club coach.
4. Cookies & Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. This uses cookies to collect anonymous usage data. We also use Vercel Analytics for performance monitoring. You can opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely on Supabase (PostgreSQL database) with row-level security policies. Photos are stored in Supabase Storage. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.
6. Certificate Upload & Processing
When you upload a competition certificate for achievement scanning:
- Certificates are never stored. Uploaded files are processed entirely in memory and are never written to disk or cloud storage.
- No images are retained. Once achievement details are extracted, the certificate data is immediately discarded.
- Only structured data is saved. We store only the achievement information you confirm (event name, medal, year, etc.) and never the original certificate image or any raw text from it.
- Third-party processing. Certificate images are sent to Google Gemini AI for text extraction. Google's API processes the image and returns structured data. Refer to Google's AI Terms for their data handling policies.
7. Children's Privacy & DPDPA Compliance
SkateCred permits under-18 athletes to showcase their profiles exclusively through a Parent/Legal Guardian managed account.
Verifiable Consent: We do not knowingly collect or display personal data (including profile pictures and display names) of minors unless actively uploaded and verified by a parent or legal guardian.
Data Logged:When a parent uploads a minor's profile picture or creates their profile, we log the parent's email address and a timestamp of consent to satisfy our legal verification obligations under the India Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), 2023.
Right to Revoke: Parents retain absolute control. You can remove the profile picture or permanently delete the athlete's account at any moment through the account settings dashboard, or by emailing us at admin@skatecred.com.
8. Your Rights
- Access your data through your dashboard
- Edit or delete athlete profiles at any time
- Delete your entire account via Dashboard → Settings → Delete Account
- Request a copy of your data by contacting admin@skatecred.com
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal data as long as your account is active and you continue to use the platform. Inactive accounts (no login for 2 years) may be deleted along with all associated data. You can delete your account and all data at any time through Settings → Delete Account.
