Marketplace terms

What SkateCred Marketplace does, and does not do
SkateCred Marketplace lists gear on behalf of sellers. We do not own, hold, inspect, test or value any item. We are not a party to any sale, we do not process payment between buyer and seller, and we cannot recover money or goods if a deal goes wrong. Every listing is the seller’s own statement about their own item.
Who can use it
The marketplace is for adults. You must be 18 or over to list an item or to contact a seller. We do not verify age, and we rely on you telling us the truth; if we are told an account belongs to a minor we will close it.
Listing rules
- List only skating gear you own and are entitled to sell.
- Describe condition honestly, including wear and anything that needs replacing.
- Use your own photographs of the actual item.
- Do not include photographs of children. This applies even to your own child, and even with their consent. A listing is a public page seen by strangers.
- No counterfeit goods, no stolen goods, nothing unrelated to skating.
Contact between buyers and sellers
Buyers reach sellers through SkateCred Marketplace. When a buyer enquires, we email the seller the buyer’s name and set the reply address to the buyer, so the seller can answer directly; from that point the conversation is between the two of you and we hold no copy of it. We never publish your phone number, and we do not ask for it. If you choose to share further contact details with someone, that is your decision and your risk.
How long a listing lasts
A free listing stays visible for 30 days. Every account gets a free trial of 2 listings, inside a window of 30 days that opens when your first listing goes live. Creating a listing uses one permanently: deleting it, marking it sold or letting it expire does not return it, and nothing you do to your listings moves the end of the window. Beyond the trial, listing requires a seller subscription.
If a subscription lapses, listings are hidden rather than deleted, and there is a grace period of three days on a monthly plan, or seven on an annual one, counted from the end of the period you paid for. Renew within that window and your listings return unchanged. After it, photographs are permanently deleted and the listing cannot be restored.

What we keep, and for how long
We keep a record of your acceptance of these terms for each listing, and we keep messages between buyers and sellers, so that we can answer a complaint after a listing has gone. Listing photographs are deleted permanently when a listing is removed or a grace period ends.
Meeting safely
Inspect gear in person before paying. Meet somewhere public, such as a rink or a club session is ideal. Take someone with you if you can. Be wary of anyone who will not meet, who pressures you to pay in advance, or who wants to move the conversation somewhere else immediately.
Removing listings and accounts
We may remove a listing or close an account that breaks these terms, without notice where the reason is safety or a report about a child. Your marketplace account and your SkateCred account are separate. Closing one does not close the other.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version recorded against a listing is the version that applied when it was posted; changes do not apply retrospectively to listings already published.
